UCD at the WAI

The WAI are redesigning their website. What’s impressive, though, is that they’re adopting a pretty serious UCD approach. Furthermore, they’re doing it in a very transparent way, with the ongoing process being documented at The WAI Web Site Redesign Project. At the moment, the site contains a detailed breakdown of user groups, persona development, and a task analysis (including a nice exercise in mapping users to tasks), as well as user testing and heuristic analysis of the existing WAI site.

It’s quite rare to be privy to the ongoing development process of such an important site, so it’s well worth keeping an eye on for future developments. The design documentation is in the pipeline, apparently.

Cheers for the link, Darius :-)
